A Desk Corner That Invites You to Sit Down

You don't need a home office — you need one corner that makes you want to stay. Here's how to carve it out.

Start with the big picture

A good desk corner is mostly subtraction: one clear surface, one lamp, one plant. Everything else earns its place or leaves.

Put the desk where daylight lands sideways — glare-free, but bright. If the only spot is a dark corner, a warm task lamp fixes more than you'd think.

The chair matters less than the ritual: if sitting down takes zero setup, you'll sit down more often.
